Lakers Win Big and Lead Series (1-0)

Last night was Game 1 of the 2009 N.B.A Finals with the Los Angeles Lakers hosting the Orlando Magic. With all of the hype that was supposed to be Lebron vs Kobe, it was now time for Dwight Howard to show America that the Magic were among the N.B.A's elite. The game started off fairly even with each team exchanging baskets. At the end of the first quarter the Magic were leading the Lakers 24-22. At the start of the second quarter injured guard Jameer Nelson came off the bench and provided a spark. However, this proved to be no match for a 10-0 Laker run and a 53-43 Laker at half. The second half was dominated by the Lakers outscoring the Magic 47-32. Kobe Bryant lead the Lakers with 40 points and 8 assists. Dwight Howard only had one field goal and finished the game with 12 points and 15 rebounds. The Magic did not match the Lakers's intensity and thus lost the game. It will be interesting to see if the Magic can come back and steal one in game 2 in the Staple Center.
